Lamah should join Swansea, says de Guzman

Swansea City midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has backed manager Michael Laudrup to bring Osasuna s Roland Lamah to Wales.

Lamah is rumoured to be on his way to Swansea for 2.4 million euros as Laudrup looks to use his Spanish contacts to find another bargain.

Laudrup s most impressive signing since taking over as Swansea s boss was Michu for 2.4 million euros, while de Guzman has been handy on loan from Villarreal and the latter believes Lamah would add something to Wales only Premier League club.

Roland s a strong player, de Guzman said.

I remember playing against him in Holland. I was playing for Feyenoord and he was playing for Roda JC.

He scores goals, he has a good shot and he s fast. If he came here, I think he d fit in with the players here who like to play football.

Lamah has scored two goals in 15 matches for La Liga s bottom side this season, while the 25-year-old Belgium international has appeared 50 times for Osasuna since joining the club in August, 2011.

Meanwhile, Spain coach Vicente del Bosque watched Swansea s 0-0 draw with Everton on Saturday and claimed Michu will be in his next squad.

However, de Guzman believes there are other Spaniards with Swansea who may have caught Del Bosque s eye.

We all know Spain have a great squad but I think, over the whole season, Chico (Flores) has done well and put himself on the map, De Guzman said.

He (del Bosque) came here to watch Michu but there is also Chico, Angel Rangel and Pablo Hernandez.

Chico gave a great performance and I think Spain’s national coach acknowledged that.
